Iris Community Guidelines
Iris is a community where beauty lovers come together to discover new products, stay in the know, and shop. These guidelines are here to protect the spirit of the community and help everyone feel welcome, understood, and valued.
Our Mission
To raise the unfiltered voices of genuine beauty lovers.
Our Values
💎 Quality Contributions: Constructive, helpful posts and reviews that improve the experience for all.
🫶 Belonging for All: A space where everyone can feel seen, supported, and judgment-free.
🗣️ Candor: Sincere, unfiltered opinions where authenticity is the standard.
1. Be Respectful and Inclusive
No hate speech or slurs including those targeting race, ethnicity, nationality, h religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age.
No harassment or bullying, including threats, insults, intimidation, or personal attacks.
No trolling or baiting. Don’t stir up conflict just for attention.
No dog whistles or coded language. Harmful intent will be judged by impact, not wordplay.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that undermine the integrity of the space, even if no single post crosses the line.
2. Share Authentic and Honest Content
Be honest, whether your experience was amazing or not-so-great.
Disclose if a product was gifted, sponsored, or if you’re affiliated with the brand.
Reviews must reflect your actual experience.
Grammar tools are fine, but AI-generated reviews, swatches, or looks go against the spirit of authenticity we value on Iris.
3. Protect Privacy
Don’t share private info like names, addresses, DMs, or screenshots of private messages.
Do not post photos or content that are not your own. This includes copying someone else’s review, reusing their images, or reposting without permission.
4. No Inappropriate or Harmful Content
No sexually explicit, violent, or graphic material.
No content promoting eating disorders, self-harm, or dangerous behavior.
If you or someone you know is struggling, visit 988lifeline.org for support.
5. Avoid Spam and Misleading Information
Comments should contribute meaningfully to the conversation. Off-topic or low-effort replies that don’t address the discussion prompt may be considered spam. Comments like “nice” or “I haven’t tried it” that don’t add value can clutter the feed and detract from real conversation.
Don’t ask for follows or gems. Comments like "follow for follow" or asking for gems are not allowed. If someone loves your content, they’ll tap the follow or gift gems button on their own.
There’s a place to share your affiliate codes and socials, like in your reviews or profile link, but feed posts aren’t it. Posts that feel like ads or promos (e.g. “use my affiliate code” or “follow me on Instagram”) take away from real conversation and feel overly pushy.
Don’t create duplicate posts within 48 hours. Scan the space before starting a new thread.
Avoid excessive profanity or language that could make others uncomfortable. Passion is welcome, but hostility or vulgarity is not.
Don’t spread misinformation, especially about product safety or health claims.
Chat was created as a space for celebration, casual connection, and real conversation—not for screenshots or repetitive updates. Don’t just post app screenshots in Chat. These fill up the feed and take away from the kinds of meaningful connections we’re here to build.
6. Use Brand Spaces to Connect—Not Complain
Brand spaces are for discovery, conversation, and seeing how others use products—not customer service. Don’t post about shipping issues, order problems, or returns. Contact the brand directly.
Asking brands to add you to their PR list or send you products goes against the spirit of the space. If a brand wants to work with you, they’ll reach out. Let your voice and your contributions, do the talking.
7. Play Fair
Don’t create fake accounts to earn gems, referrals, or manipulate advocate status.
Don’t exploit bugs or engage in dishonest behavior to gain rewards.
Accounts that game the system will be permanently banned without warning.
8. Enforcement and Consequences
Violations may result in content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent bans.
We aim to act fairly, but our priority is protecting the community and upholding the spirit of these guidelines.
9. Shape the Future of Iris
We’re all stewards of Iris. If you see something that doesn’t feel right, use the report tools or reach out to a mod. This space stays honest and kind because we care enough to speak up.
The guidelines will grow as we do. Thank you so much for helping shape what Iris becomes.
